A promising debut from this Georgia-based power trio, FIRE ON CORRIDOR X is a record of ambitious scope that enlists the sprawling feedback-saturated soundscapes of shoegaze outfits like Spacemen 3 and Slowdive, all in the cause of creating unrepentantly dramatic classic rock complete with swooning vocals and theatrical melodies. Though the grandiose lyrics of "Regal Regalia" and "Leeds" occasionally drift towards melodrama, FIRE ON CORRIDOR X's abrasive, basement-tape production values manage to keep the proceedings pleasingly rough and tumble.
